In this short talk, Sheikh Nouman Khan reflects on two verses that explain the reason behind the too much mention of the Hellfire in the Qur’an. Almighty Allah says:
What would Allah do with your punishment if you are grateful and believe? And ever is Allah Appreciative and Knowing. (An-Nisaa’ 4:147)
Islam teaches that Hellfire is a real place prepared by Allah for those who do not believe in Him, rebel against His laws, and reject His messengers. Hell is an actual place, not a mere state of mind or a spiritual entity. The horrors, pain, anguish, and punishment are all real, but different in nature than their earthly counterparts.
Allah Almighty frightens the people and warns them that Hellfire is a horrible place. The Almighty Allah is extremely merciful and this is shown to mankind by sending numerous prophets and messengers to lead them to His guide and in return earn Allah’s Paradise.
