Prophet Muhammad \u00a0(peace and blessings be upon him) said,\u00a0<strong>\u201cWhosoever fasted in Ramadan and then followed up with six fasting days of\u00a0Shawwal, it is like fasting every day.\u201d<\/strong>\u00a0(<a href=\"https:\/\/www.sunnah.com\/muslim\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Muslim<\/a>)<\/p>\n<p>The meaning is that the reward is like the reward of a person who\u00a0he had fasted a whole year. It is highly recommended to fast six days of the month of\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/aboutislam.net\/counseling\/ask-the-scholar\/should-fasting-six-days-of-shawwal-be-consecutive\/\">Shawwal<\/a>, but it is not obligatory. Those who want to fast can fast after<a href=\"https:\/\/www.the-faith.com\/acts-of-worship\/fasting\/farewell-ramadan-welcome-eid-al-fitr\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">\u00a0Eid Al-Fitr\u00a0<\/a>any\u00a0six days during Shawwal.<\/p>\n<p>It is not required to fast six days continuously without any interruption.
