{"id":7634,"date":"2025-11-21T08:37:34","date_gmt":"2025-11-21T08:37:34","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/imuslim.us\/?p=7634"},"modified":"2025-11-21T08:37:34","modified_gmt":"2025-11-21T08:37:34","slug":"best-womens-rows-back","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/imuslim.us\/?p=7634","title":{"rendered":"The Best of Women&#8217;s Rows Are the Back"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>What is the meaning of this <em>hadith:\u00a0<\/em>\u201cThe best of women\u2019s rows are in the back and the worst of them are in the front?\u201d<\/p>\n<p>This <em>hadith<\/em> is referring to a <a href=\"http:\/\/www.prayerinislam.com\/why-we-pray\/the-earth-is-my-masjid\/\"><em>masjid<\/em> <\/a>setup where there is no partition between the men\u2019s and women\u2019s sections. In the Prophet\u2019s (peace be upon him) <em>masjid<\/em> itself, there was no partition. Men simply prayed at the front of the <em>masjid<\/em> and women prayed in the back of the<em> masjid<\/em>.<\/p>\n<p>While it is often translated as \u201cbest\u201d and \u201cworst,\u201d this <a href=\"http:\/\/www.the-faith.com\/featured\/10-hadiths-about-women\/\"><em>hadith<\/em><\/a> corresponds to what we know about the men\u2019s rows. The \u201cbest\u201d blessings, or most blessings, are for those who make it to the front row. The \u201cworst\u201d rows \u2013 with relatively less blessings than the early-birds, are those closer to the back.<\/p>\n<p>Does this still apply when prayer areas are partitioned, or whether women are praying by themselves?
