`A’ishah (may Allah be pleased with her) narrated, \u201cThe Prophet (peace be upon him) used to engage himself in I`tikaf<\/i>\u00a0(seclusion for worship in the mosque) during the last ten days of Ramadan till he passed away. His wives followed this practice after him.\u201d (Al-Bukhari and Muslim)<\/p>\n

It is strongly emphasized that some people in each community make i`tikaf<\/i> during the entire last 10 days of Ramadan, as this was from the communal guidance and practice of the Prophet.<\/p>\n
