The loud prayers are<a href=\"http:\/\/www.prayerinislam.com\/guide-to-prayer\/fajr-prayer-is-like-a-good-investment\/\"> Fajr<\/a> (Dawn), <a href=\"http:\/\/www.prayerinislam.com\/guide-to-prayer\/obligatory-prayers-guide-to-prayer\/maghrib-prayer\/\">Maghrib<\/a> (Sunset) and <a href=\"http:\/\/www.prayerinislam.com\/guide-to-prayer\/the-isha-prayer\/\"><em>`<\/em>Isha\u2019 <\/a>(Night). The quiet or silent prayers are <a href=\"http:\/\/www.prayerinislam.com\/guide-to-prayer\/obligatory-prayers-guide-to-prayer\/zhuhr-prayer\/\">Zhuhr <\/a>(Noon) and <a href=\"http:\/\/www.prayerinislam.com\/guide-to-prayer\/obligatory-prayers-guide-to-prayer\/the-asr-prayer\/\"><em>`<\/em>Asr <\/a>(Afternoon).<\/p>\n<p>If a woman offers prayer alone , in the presence of <em>maharim<\/em> (unmarriageable male relatives), or leading other women in congregation, she can recite aloud in the prayers which are performed aloud and without sound in the quiet prayers. This ruling is the same for men and women. However, she should keep her voice lower than that of a man.<\/p>\n<p>Responding to this question, Dr. Muhammad Salah states that\u00a0 a woman does not raise her voice as much as men.
