It is a great act of worship as it reflects one of the unique features of Islam. It is a communal obligation (<em>Fard Kifayah<\/em>) on Muslim men. There are many Prophetic traditions regarding the virtues of hearing and repeating the words of <em>adhan<\/em>. For example, Abu Sa`id Al-Khudri narrated that the Prophet (peace be upon him) said: \u201cWhen you hear the <em>adhan <\/em>(call to prayer), repeat what the Muezzin pronounces.\u201d (<a href=\"http:\/\/www.the-faith.com\/featured\/imam-muslim-leading-scholar-hadith\/\">Muslim<\/a>)<\/p>\n<p>It is highly recommended to hear the <em>adhan<\/em>, wait until the Muezzin is finished, then say the Prophetic supplication.
