What is the Ruling of Offering Tahiyyat Al-Masjid?<\/h2>\n

Question:\u00a0<\/span><\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n

I could not offer Tahiyat Al-Masjid<\/em> Prayer<\/a> (Greeting the Masjid Prayer) because there was not enough time between the adhan<\/em> (calling of prayer) and the iqamah<\/em><\/a>, what is the ruling of this prayer?<\/span><\/p>\n

Answer:<\/span><\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n

In the name of\u00a0Allah<\/a>, we praise Him, seek His help and ask for His forgiveness. Whoever Allah guides none can misguide, and whoever He allows to fall astray, none can guide them aright.<\/span><\/p>\n

Abu Qatadah narrated that the Prophet (peace be upon him) said, “If anyone of you enters a Mosque, he should not sit until he prays two rak`ahs<\/em>“. (Agreed Upon)\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Imam An-Nawai said: “The scholars are unanimously agreed that it is preferred to greet the mosque, and it is disliked to sit down without greeting it with no excuse, because of the hadith<\/em> of Abu Qatadah which clearly states that that is not allowed. (Al-Majmu\u2018)\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n
