If they are in order, then he will have prospered and succeeded. But if they are lacking, then he will have failed and lost.\u201d<\/em><br data-start=\"587\" data-end=\"590\" \/><em data-start=\"592\" data-end=\"607\">(At-Tirmidhi)<\/em><\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p class=\"\" data-start=\"609\" data-end=\"859\">In this powerful short talk, <strong data-start=\"638\" data-end=\"667\">Sheikh Tawfique Chowdhury<\/strong> offers a sobering reminder about the punishment for abandoning prayer\u2014the <strong data-start=\"742\" data-end=\"768\">second pillar of Islam<\/strong> and the <strong data-start=\"777\" data-end=\"791\">first deed<\/strong> for which a person will be held accountable on the Day of Judgment.<\/p>\n<p class=\"\" data-start=\"861\" data-end=\"932\">Sheikh Tawfique begins by reciting the following verse from the Qur\u2019an:<\/p>\n<blockquote data-start=\"934\" data-end=\"1074\">\n<p class=\"\" data-start=\"936\" data-end=\"1074\"><strong data-start=\"936\" data-end=\"1051\">&#8220;The Day the shin will be uncovered and they are invited to prostration but the disbelievers will not be able.&#8221;<\/strong><br data-start=\"1051\" data-end=\"1054\" \/><em data-start=\"1056\" data-end=\"1074\">(Al-Qalam 68:42)<\/em><\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p class=\"\" data-start=\"1076\" data-end=\"1311\">This verse highlights the humiliation that will befall those who neglected their prayers in this worldly life. On that Day, they will be called to prostrate, but they will be unable to do so\u2014<strong data-start=\"1267\" data-end=\"1310\">a sign of disgrace and divine rejection<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p class=\"\" data-start=\"1313\" data-end=\"1443\">Sheikh Tawfique reminds us that abandoning prayer is not a small matter.
