They [are the ones who] believe in it. <\/strong>(<a href=\"http:\/\/www.learning-quran.com\/quran-translations\/en-translation\/recitation-surat-al-baqarah\/\">Al-Baqarah<\/a> 2:121)<\/p>\n<p>Welcome to a new interesting episode of \u201cCorrect Your Recitation\u201d series with Sheikh Muhammad Salah and his guests. First Sheikh Isma`il recites the full <em>surahs<\/em> of <em>Al-Fil<\/em> (the Elephant), <em>Quraish<\/em>, and <em>Al-Ma`un<\/em> (the Small Kindnesses). <em>Surat Al-Fil<\/em> is the 105<sup>th<\/sup> chapter of the Qur\u2019an with five verses. It was revealed at the early era of mission in Makkah. It is a clear example of Allah\u2019s protection for His house (<em>Al-Ka`bah<\/em>) by destroying the Abyssinian army that came from Yemen with great elephants, through a flock of birds. <em>Surat Quraish<\/em> is the 106<sup>th<\/sup> chapter of the Qur\u2019an with four verses. The <em>surah<\/em> highlights the great blessings and favors that Allah had bestowed upon the tribe of Quraish who lived in Makkah. It also explains the importance of worshiping Allah alone. It also reflects the punishment for denying the message of the Prophet (peace be upon him). Allah Almighty punished Quraish with famine and fear.<\/p>\n<p><em>Surat Al-Ma`un<\/em> is the 107<sup>th<\/sup> chapter of the Qur\u2019an with seven verses. Ibn `Abbas noted that part of this chapter was revealed in Makkah and the other part in Madinah. This is because the hypocrites did not exist in Makkah. So, the reference to them could have only occurred in Madinah. It explains the bad consequences of not believing in the life after death.<\/p>\n<p>As usual Dr. Muhammad Salah begins his talk by reflecting on the meanings of the <em>surahs<\/em>. He narrates story of the people of the elephant.
