Here, a lady asks the Sheikh about the validity of her prayer as her child climbs on her back while praying and causes tremendous disturbance.<\/p>\n
Dr. Muhammad Salah answers her question by narrating the hadith of Abu Qatadah (may Allah be pleased with him) who said, \u201cThe Prophet (peace be upon him) used to pray while carrying Umamah bint Zainab (the Prophet\u2019s granddaughter), and when he prostrates he would put her down and when he would stand, he would carry her.\u201d (Al-Bukhari and Muslim)<\/p>\n
Therefore, any person who needs to hold his\/her baby while offering prayer can do so and the prayer is valid due to the act of the Prophet (peace be upon him).<\/p>\n
Sheikh Ibn `Uthaymeen (may Allah have mercy upon him) said: \u201cIt is permissible for a woman to carry her child if he cries while she does not know whether or not there is impurity on him. The evidence for this is that the Prophet (peace be upon him) did the same thing. He prayed with his granddaughter Umamah bint Zaynab, and it is known that in general children\u2019s clothes are often stained with impurity.\u201d<\/p>\n
