{"id":41,"date":"2025-09-14T22:01:48","date_gmt":"2025-09-14T22:01:48","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/imuslim.us\/?p=41"},"modified":"2025-09-14T22:01:48","modified_gmt":"2025-09-14T22:01:48","slug":"lessons-surat-an-nas","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/imuslim.us\/?p=41","title":{"rendered":"Lessons from Surat An-Nas"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>In this short talk, Sheikh Nouman Khan reflects and extracts some lessons from\u00a0<i>Surat<\/i>\u00a0An-Nas (the 114<sup>th<\/sup>\u00a0Chapter of the Qur&#8217;an).<\/p>\n<p>He begins his talk by raising a simple question which is, who is the biggest victim of Satan (<i>shaytan<\/i>)? In the Qur&#8217;an, a lot of bad people are mentioned. Pharaoh comes in the second rank after Satan.<\/p>\n<p>Then, he raises another question that is, what are the three names of Allah in the Surah?<\/p>\n<p>1-\u00a0<i>Rabb An-Nas<\/i>\u00a0(Master of the people)<\/p>\n<p>2-\u00a0<i>Malik An-Nas<\/i>\u00a0(King of the people)<\/p>\n<p>3-\u00a0<i>Illah An-Nas<\/i>\u00a0(God of people)<\/p>\n<p>The Almighty Allah has mentioned what (<i>Fir`awn<\/i>) Pharaoh said about himself in the Qur&#8217;an:<\/p>\n<p>1- &#8220;I am your most exalted Lord.&#8221; (An-Nazi`at 79:24)<\/p>\n<p>So, Pharaoh said: \u201cI am a \u2018<i>rabb<\/i>\u2019.\u201d He (Pharaoh) attributed to himself the biggest\u00a0<i>waswasah<\/i>\u00a0(whisperings) of\u00a0<i>shaytan<\/i>\u00a0which is supposed to be an attribute of Allah. [Start time 00:2-5]<\/p>\n<p>After that, Sheikh Nouman raises other questions concerning Satan: what was the biggest problem of\u00a0<i>shaytan<\/i>? What is the biggest thing that he can instill inside a human being? It is arrogance.<\/p>\n<p>What is the worst manifestation of arrogance? It is\u00a0<i>Fir`awn<\/i>\u00a0(Pharaoh). Nowadays, people do not say what Pharaoh said about himself that he is god over people. Instead, one declares \u201cI am god over myself\u201d, saying, \u201cI am my own master.\u201d In other words, their desires become their master.
