But now he cannot attend the prayer at the mosque because of his sickness and old age. Can he follow the Imam\u2019s congregational prayer from the house that is just one block from the mosque?<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #800000\"><strong>Answer:<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n<p>Islam has laid great importance on the congregational prayer and has enjoined its followers to observe prayer collectively. The Qur\u2019an says:<\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 30px;padding-right: 30px\"><strong>And establish prayer and give zakah and bow with those who bow [in worship and obedience]. <\/strong>(<a href=\"http:\/\/www.learning-quran.com\/quran-translations\/en-translation\/recitation-surat-al-baqarah\/\">Al-Baqarah<\/a> 2:43)<\/p>\n<p>Offering prayer in congregation is greater in reward than offering it alone individually.
