{"id":2659,"date":"2025-10-02T22:37:20","date_gmt":"2025-10-02T22:37:20","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/imuslim.us\/?p=2659"},"modified":"2025-10-02T22:37:20","modified_gmt":"2025-10-02T22:37:20","slug":"can-i-treat-the-adhan-on-phone-adhan-of-masjid-similarly-23","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/imuslim.us\/?p=2659","title":{"rendered":"Can I Treat the Adhan on Phone &amp; Adhan of Masjid Similarly?"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><span style=\"font-size: 14pt;font-family: georgia, palatino, serif;color: #993300\"><strong><em>Adhan<\/em> on Phone &amp; <em>Adhan<\/em> of <em>Masjid<\/em><\/strong> <\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 14pt;font-family: georgia, palatino, serif\"><em>Adhan<\/em> is the announcement of the beginning of a one of the five obligatory <a href=\"https:\/\/www.prayerinislam.com\/why-we-pray\/what-are-the-virtues-of-praying-on-regular-basis\/\">prayers<\/a>, during the day or night.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 14pt;font-family: georgia, palatino, serif;color: #008000\"><strong>The Rulings of the <em>Adhan<\/em> and the <em>Iqamah<\/em><\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 14pt;font-family: georgia, palatino, serif\">The <em>adhan<\/em> and the <em>iqamah<\/em> are <em>fardh kifiyah<\/em> (a collective responsibility) for the Muslim community, but only for the five compulsory prayers.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-family: georgia, palatino, serif;font-size: 14pt\">Malik bin Huwairith narrated, <\/span><span style=\"font-family: georgia, palatino, serif;font-size: 14pt\">I came to the Prophet (peace be upon him) with some men from my tribe and stayed with him for twenty nights. He was kind and merciful to us. When he realized our longing for our families, he said to us, &#8220;Go back and stay with your families and teach them the religion, and offer the prayer and one of you should pronounce the <em>Adhan<\/em> for the prayer when its time is due and the oldest one amongst you should lead the prayer.&#8221; (<a href=\"https:\/\/www.the-faith.com\/islamic-history\/muslim-figures\/albukhari-the-imam-of-hadith-and-sunnah\/\">Al-Bukhari<\/a>)<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 14pt;font-family: georgia, palatino, serif\">A general rule is to follow the <em>adhan<\/em> you hear from your mosque. That should be the <em>adhan<\/em> you follow, repeat and make<em> du`aa&#8217;<\/em> (supplication) after.
