Fulfilling the Soul\u2019s Hunger<\/strong><\/h3>\n

Just as our bodies hunger for food and our hearts long for connection, our souls thirst for worship<\/strong>. This thirst cannot be quenched by distractions or material comforts\u2014it can only be fulfilled by sincere devotion to Allah<\/strong>, and one of its most powerful forms is ruku`<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

What is Ruku`?<\/strong><\/h3>\n

Ruku` is not just a posture; it is a symbol of submission<\/strong>, a physical reflection of our humility before the Majesty of the Lord<\/strong>. When we say,<\/p>\n

“Subhana Rabbiya al-`Azheem”<\/strong>
\u201cHow perfect is my Lord, the Supreme,\u201d<\/em>
we are glorifying the One who sustains, cherishes, and guides us.<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n

A Reflection of Internal States<\/strong><\/h3>\n

Hakim ibn Hizam initially resisted ruku` because of its deep humility. That tells us something\u2014true worship challenges the ego<\/strong>. To bow down, with our back straight and hands on our knees, is to physically and spiritually acknowledge our need and Allah\u2019s perfection<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

\u201cIn ruku`, therefore, glorify the Supremity of your Lord.\u201d

The Path to Love<\/strong><\/h3>\n

Ruku is not isolated; it is a step **toward sujud**, toward nearness. Ibn al-Qayyim called it the **gateway to deeper humility**. When we strive to perfect our ruku<\/code>, Allah comes closer to us:<\/p>\n

It\u2019s not about how long we stay in ruku`, but about the sincerity and effort<\/strong> we bring to it. Even if we start with small steps, every attempt to deepen our humility and presence is beloved to Allah.<\/p>\n
