Whoever Allah guides none can misguide, and whoever He allows to fall astray, none can guide them aright.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-family: georgia, palatino, serif;font-size: 14pt;color: #800080\"><strong>What is Eid in Islam?<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-family: georgia, palatino, serif;font-size: 14pt\">Muslims celebrate two Eids each year. The Eid day starts by performing a prayer that is one of the most recommended acts to Muslims and they consist of two <em>rakahs<\/em> and a sermon that reminds them of the Islamic ethics. The first, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.prayerinislam.com\/guide-to-prayer\/eid-etiquette-and-rulings\/\"><em>Eid Al-Fitr<\/em><\/a>, occurs when Muslims have finished fasting the month of Ramadan, while the second, Eid Al-Adha, signals the end of the first 10 days of the lunar month, Dhul-Hijjah.<\/span><\/p>\n<div id=\"attachment_15447\" style=\"width: 310px\" class=\"wp-caption alignright\"><a href=\"https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/www.prayerinislam.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/05\/Eid-Prayer-at-Home.jpg?ssl=1\"><img data-recalc-dims=\"1\" loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-15447\" class=\"wp-image-15447 size-medium\" src=\"https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/www.prayerinislam.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/05\/Eid-Prayer-at-Home-300x169.jpg?resize=300%2C169&#038;ssl=1\" alt=\"Eid Prayer at Home During the Lockdown\" width=\"300\" height=\"169\" \/><\/a><p id=\"caption-attachment-15447\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">Muslims are encouraged to pray Eid in their homes with their own families<\/p><\/div>\n<p><span style=\"font-family: georgia, palatino, serif;font-size: 14pt;color: #800080\"><strong>How many Rakahs of Eid Prayer?<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-family: georgia, palatino, serif;font-size: 14pt\">Eid Salat (prayer) consists of two <em>rakahs<\/em> (units of prayer).<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-family: georgia, palatino, serif;font-size: 14pt\">Ibn `Abbas (may Allah be pleased with him) narrated that the Prophet (peace be upon him) went out and offered a two <em>rakahs<\/em> prayer on the Day of <em>Eid Al-Fitr<\/em> and did not offer any other prayer before or after it and at that time Bilal was accompanying him. (Al-Bukhari)<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-family: georgia, palatino, serif;font-size: 14pt;color: #339966\"><strong>Method of Eid Prayer<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-family: georgia, palatino, serif;font-size: 14pt\">The first <em>rakah<\/em> begins, just like all other prayers, by <em>takbirat al-ihram<\/em> (the first <em>takbeer<\/em> made by the praying person, and by which he begins the prayer), then by making seven more takbeer, and in the second <em>rakah<\/em> &#8211; five <em>takbeer<\/em> are made excluding the <em>takbeer<\/em> of standing back up.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-family: georgia, palatino, serif;font-size: 14pt\">`A&#8217;ishah (may Allah be pleased with her) narrated that the Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him) would say the <em>takbeer<\/em> (Allah is most great) seven times in the first <em>rakah<\/em> and five times in the second <em>rakah<\/em> on the day of the breaking of the fast and on the day of sacrifice (on the occasion of both the &#8216;Id prayers, the two festivals). (Abu Dawud)<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-family: georgia, palatino, serif;font-size: 14pt;color: #3366ff\"><strong>What is the Ruling of Eid Prayer?<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-family: georgia, palatino, serif;font-size: 14pt\">The scholars have three opinions regrading the ruling of Eid Prayer:<\/span><\/p>\n<div class=\"mod\" lang=\"ar-KW\" data-md=\"61\">\n<div class=\"LGOjhe\" role=\"heading\" data-attrid=\"wa:\/description\" data-hveid=\"CAsQAQ\"><span class=\"ILfuVd\" style=\"font-family: georgia, palatino, serif;font-size: 14pt\"><span class=\"e24Kjd\"><span dir=\"ltr\">Eid Prayer is <em>Sunnah Mu&#8217;kkadah<\/em> according to Maliki and Shaf&#8217;i jurisprudence.<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/div>\n<div role=\"heading\" data-attrid=\"wa:\/description\" data-hveid=\"CAsQAQ\">\n<p><span style=\"font-family: georgia, palatino, serif;font-size: 14pt\">It is communal obligation. This is the view of Imam Ahmad.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-family: georgia, palatino, serif;font-size: 14pt\">It is a duty for each Muslim and is obligatory for men; those who do not do it with no excuse are sinning thereby. This is the view of Imam Abu Hanifah, and was also narrated from Imam Ahmad. Among those who favored this view were Sheikh al-Islam Ibn Taymiyah and Ash-Shawkani (may Allah have mercy on them).<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #993300\"><strong><span style=\"font-family: georgia, palatino, serif;font-size: 14pt\">What is the Ruling of Offering Eid Payer at Home due to Covid-19?<\/span><\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-family: georgia, palatino, serif;font-size: 14pt\">In light of the masajid being shut down due to the COVID-19 crisis and the upcoming Eid prayers, the Muslims are encouraged to pray Eid in their homes with their own families (or individually in case one is living by oneself), and there is no need for a <em>khu\u1e6dbah<\/em>.<\/span><\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<div class=\"g\">\n<div class=\"rc\" data-hveid=\"CAsQAg\" data-ved=\"2ahUKEwjy-Zr1wsLpAhU57uAKHbWiAMAQFSgBMAF6BAgLEAI\"><span style=\"font-family: georgia, palatino, serif;font-size: 14pt\">While the general rule is that Eid \u1e63alat should be prayed in a large congregation, it is permissible even in regular circumstances for the one who missed Eid to make it up at home. Anas ibn Malik (may Allah be pleased with him) once missed the Eid prayer in Basrah, so he gathered his family and had one of his household lead them in two rakahs. And A\u1e6da&#8217; ibn Abi Raba\u1e25 (d. 114 AH) said regarding one who missed the Eid prayer, &#8220;Let him pray two rakahs and say the <em>takbeer<\/em>&#8220;; as well Hammad ibn Abi Sulayman (d. 120 AH), the famous scholar of Kufa and teacher of Imam Abu Hanifah, said when asked the same question, \u201cHe should pray as they prayed, and do the <em>takbeer<\/em> as they did.\u201d [Mu\u1e63annaf of Ibn Abi Shaybah, 2\/4-5]. All of these reports are regarding those who missed Eid for any reason.<\/span><\/div>\n<div data-hveid=\"CAsQAg\" data-ved=\"2ahUKEwjy-Zr1wsLpAhU57uAKHbWiAMAQFSgBMAF6BAgLEAI\">\n<p><span style=\"font-family: georgia, palatino, serif;font-size: 14pt\">Given our current situation, we advise families to observe all of the Sunnahs of Eid (of taking a <em>ghusl<\/em>, eating a breakfast, wearing one\u2019s best garments, saying the general <em>takbeer<\/em> after Fajr, etc.) and then praying a congregational prayer at home with their own families, with the special takbeer of Eid.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-family: georgia, palatino, serif;font-size: 14pt\">All our four schools of law state that attending the<em> khu\u1e6dbah<\/em> of Eid is not obligatory, nor is the <em>khu\u1e6dbah<\/em> a requirement of the Eid prayer, it is not required to give <em>Khutbah<\/em> in every home.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-family: georgia, palatino, serif;font-size: 14pt;color: #808080\"><strong>How to Pray Eid Salah \u2013 step by step?<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-family: georgia, palatino, serif;font-size: 14pt\">One can Pray after 15 minutes of sunrise.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-family: georgia, palatino, serif;font-size: 14pt\">Make the intention to perform Eid prayer<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-family: georgia, palatino, serif;font-size: 14pt\">&#8211; Eid Payer should be in the same manner like <em>Masjid<\/em> or mosque.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-family: georgia, palatino, serif;font-size: 14pt\">&#8211; Eid payer will be two <em>rakahs<\/em>, the surah should be read out loud. This includes <em>Surat Al-Fatihah<\/em> (the Opening Chapter) and another short surah.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-family: georgia, palatino, serif;font-size: 14pt\">&#8211; In the first<em> rakah<\/em>, there will be seven <em>takbeer<\/em>. This includes the opening <em>takbeer<\/em> to start the prayer, followed by six more, <em>recite surat Al-Fatihah, <\/em>and then a short surah (Surat Al-`Ala is recommended).<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-family: georgia, palatino, serif;font-size: 14pt\">&#8211; In the second rakah there will be five <em>takbeer<\/em> after you get up, followed by reciting <em>surat Al-Fatihah<\/em> and a short surah (surat Al-Ghashiah is recommended).<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-family: georgia, palatino, serif;font-size: 14pt\">&#8211; One can raise both hands out for each <em>takbeer<\/em>.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-family: georgia, palatino, serif;font-size: 14pt\">We would like to wish you and your loved ones Eid Mubarak!<\/span><\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<a href='https:\/\/prayerinislam.com\/eid-prayer-at-home-during-the-lockdown\/' target='_blank'>Soucre Link<\/a>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>What is Eid Prayer in Islam?
