(<a href=\"http:\/\/www.the-faith.com\/islamic-history\/albukhari-the-imam-of-hadith-and-sunnah\/\">Al-Bukhari<\/a>)<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-family: georgia, palatino, serif\">At the end of the prayer, one should make <em>tasleem<\/em> which means to say the salutation: &#8220;<em>As-salamu `alaykum wa ra\u1e25matullah<\/em>&#8221; to the right and the left.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-family: georgia, palatino, serif\">Sa`d ibn Abi Waqqa\u1e63 (may Allah be pleased with him) narrated, &#8220;I saw the Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him) pronouncing <em>tasleem<\/em> on his right and on his left, until I saw the whiteness of his cheek.&#8221; (<a href=\"http:\/\/www.the-faith.com\/featured\/imam-muslim-leading-scholar-hadith\/\">Muslim<\/a>)<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-family: georgia, palatino, serif\">But in case one concludes his prayer with one <em>tasleem<\/em> instead of two, would such prayer be valid or not?<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-family: georgia, palatino, serif\">`A&#8217;ishah (may Allah be pleased with her) narrated that the Prophet (peace be upon him) used to say <em>tasleem<\/em> once while facing straight and leaning slightly to the right side.
