I sometimes stuck in traffic at the time of <a href=\"https:\/\/www.prayerinislam.com\/guide-to-prayer\/obligatory-prayers-guide-to-prayer\/zhuhr-prayer\/\"><em>Zhuhr<\/em><\/a> or <a href=\"https:\/\/www.prayerinislam.com\/guide-to-prayer\/obligatory-prayers-guide-to-prayer\/maghrib-prayer\/\"><em>Maghrib<\/em><\/a>, which means that I can find no way to pray on time. What are the best solutions in such cases?\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<h2><span style=\"color: #003300\"><strong><span style=\"font-family: georgia, palatino, serif;font-size: 14pt\">Answer:<\/span><\/strong><\/span><\/h2>\n<p><span style=\"font-family: georgia, palatino, serif;font-size: 14pt\">In the name of Allah, we praise Him, seek His help and ask for His forgiveness. Whoever Allah guides none can misguide, and whoever He allows to fall astray, none can guide them aright.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-family: georgia, palatino, serif;font-size: 14pt\">It is important to know that we are not allowed to combine <em>Fajr<\/em> Prayer with <em>Zhuhr<\/em> Prayer, or <em>`Asr<\/em> with <em>Maghrib<\/em> or <em>`Isha&#8217;<\/em> with <em>Fajr<\/em>; rather we are allowed only to combine <em>Zhuhr<\/em> with <em>`Asr<\/em> (by praying both of them either at the time of the first Prayer or at the time of the second one).\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-family: georgia, palatino, serif;font-size: 14pt\">Likewise, we are allowed to combine <em>Zhuhr<\/em> with <em>`Asr<\/em> and\u00a0 <em>Maghrib<\/em> with <em>`Isha&#8217;<\/em> (by praying them both either at the time of the first or the second).<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-family: georgia, palatino, serif;font-size: 14pt\">The permissibility of <a href=\"https:\/\/www.newmuslim.net\/abcs-of-islam\/pillars-of-islam\/everything-about-combining-prayers\/\">combining Prayers<\/a> \u2014besides travel, rain, snow storm, sickness, or war\u2014 extends to exceptional circumstances as well. Certain obvious examples are: when one is stuck in a traffic jam, or a surgeon is performing an operation lasting hours, or a person is working in an assembly line and cannot leave his job in time for each prayer, etc.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-family: georgia, palatino, serif;font-size: 14pt\">Praying in cars, planes, trains or other means of transportation, where one cannot face the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.prayerinislam.com\/fatwas-rulings\/conditions-of-prayer-facing-the-qiblah\/\"><em>qiblah<\/em> <\/a>(direction of prayer) or pray standing, is permissible only in the case of obligatory prayers if one fears that the time for the obligatory prayer will end before reaching their destination.
