{"id":16825,"date":"2026-05-07T02:36:36","date_gmt":"2026-05-07T02:36:36","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/imuslim.us\/?p=16825"},"modified":"2026-05-07T02:36:36","modified_gmt":"2026-05-07T02:36:36","slug":"rulings-al-masbuq-prayer","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/imuslim.us\/?p=16825","title":{"rendered":"What Are the Rulings of Al-Masbuq in Prayer?"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><span style=\"font-family: arial black, sans-serif;color: #ff6600\"><strong>Rulings of Al-Masbuq in Prayer<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-family: georgia, palatino, serif;color: #800080\"><strong>Question: <\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-family: georgia, palatino, serif\">What are the rulings of <em>al-masbuq<\/em> who fails to join the imam in the <a href=\"http:\/\/www.prayerinislam.com\/guide-to-prayer\/all-about-fajr-prayer\/\">first <em>rak`ah<\/em><\/a> (unit of prayer)?<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-family: georgia, palatino, serif;color: #800080\"><strong>Answer:<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-family: georgia, palatino, serif\">First of all, <em>al-masbuq<\/em> is a person who attends the <a href=\"http:\/\/www.prayerinislam.com\/guide-to-prayer\/\">prayer<\/a> after the imam (leader of prayer) has already offered one or more <em>rak`ahs<\/em>.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-family: georgia, palatino, serif\">It is preferred for a Muslim to walk calmly to the mosque and make up whatever he has missed. He\/she should not walk too fast or run towards the mosque in order to catch the prayer.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-family: georgia, palatino, serif\">Abu Hurairah (may Allah be pleased with him) narrated that the Prophet (peace be upon him) said, &#8220;When you hear the <em>Iqamah<\/em>, proceed to offer the prayer with calmness and solemnity and do not make haste. And pray whatever you are able to pray and complete whatever you have missed.&#8221; (<a href=\"http:\/\/www.the-faith.com\/islamic-history\/albukhari-the-imam-of-hadith-and-sunnah\/\">Al-Bukhari<\/a>)<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-family: georgia, palatino, serif\">If a person joins that the imam while performing <em>ruku` <\/em>(bowing), he must recite the opening <em>takbir<\/em> while standing and then bow for <em>ruku`<\/em>. His prayer will not be valid if he says it while bowing.
