When you rise to perform prayer, wash your faces and your forearms to the elbows\u2026<\/span>\u00a0<\/strong> (<a href=\"http:\/\/www.learning-quran.com\/quran-translations\/en-translation\/different-reciters\/al-maidah-27-40\/\">Al-Ma&#8217;idah<\/a> 5:6)<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-family: georgia, palatino, serif\">`Umar ibn Al-Khattab said that a person performed ablution and left a small part equal to the space of a nail (unwashed).<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-family: georgia, palatino, serif\">The Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him) saw that and said: &#8220;Go back and perform ablution well. He then went back (performed ablution well) and offered the <a href=\"http:\/\/www.prayerinislam.com\/guide-to-prayer\/\">prayer<\/a>.&#8221; (<a href=\"http:\/\/www.the-faith.com\/featured\/imam-muslim-leading-scholar-hadith\/\">Muslim<\/a>)<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-family: georgia, palatino, serif\">This hadith shows that ablution is invalid in case a portion equals the size of the nail remains untouched by the water of <a href=\"http:\/\/www.prayerinislam.com\/purification-2\/nullification-of-ablution\/\">ablution<\/a>.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-family: georgia, palatino, serif\">Is it permissible to perform ablution while wearing nail polish?
