Learning <em>Tajweed<\/em> means learning how to pronounce the letters in the words correctly, which covers matters like when a consonant is silent or not and how long a vowel is.<\/p>\n<p>Learning the recitation of the Qur\u2019an correctly is considered to be <em>fard `ayn<\/em> (individual obligation) upon every Muslim. The Almighty Allah says:<\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 30px;padding-right: 30px\"><strong>And recite the Qur&#8217;an with measured recitation. <\/strong>(<a title=\"Recitation of Surat Al-Muzzammil\" href=\"http:\/\/www.learning-quran.com\/quran-translations\/en-translation\/mishari-bin-rashid\/recitation-surat-al-muzzammil\/\">Al-Muzzammi<\/a>l 73:4)<\/p>\n<p>The Sheikh Begins the first episode by explaining the meaning of the word <em>Makharij<\/em> that is the points of vocal articulation. Scholars define the word <em>\u201cMakhraj\u201d<\/em> as the where, the position or the point of articulation which a letter in the sound stops at or produced from.<\/p>\n<p>Then the Sheikh differentiates between the <em>Makharij<\/em> and <em>Sifat<\/em> (attributes) in the Arabic Language.
